This "Remember Pearl Harbor"pin (with a real pearl instead of the word "pearl") is the reason the true "Warriors" story came to be written. When we gave Jennifer, our granddaughter, this special pin as a gift, she wrote asking us to tell her the story behind the pin. She also wanted to know all about her Hawaiian grandmother, who originally owned the pin, and wore it many times during the long years of World War II. When we told Jennifer that story, it occurred to us that all American children should know this story, and this is why the book was written, which then led to the DVD, and eventually to this website.
